Hi!
I’m Sarah (she/her), and for as long as I can remember I have had a keen interest in anatomy and physiology, the functions of the human body and BIRTH! Growing up I was obsessed with watching TLC’s A Birth Story. I’m that person in a group wanting to hear everyone's birth stories and talking about pregnancy. My desire to learn more about how the human body functions led me to a career as a Registered Massage Therapist, which I have been practicing for the past 15 years. My passion and focus lies in women’s health, specifically prenatal and postpartum care.
It wasn’t until I chose to have a doula for the births of my children that I realized how invaluable a doula’s presence was in labour, birth and the postpartum experience. I knew I wanted to learn more and be able to educate and support others so that they can have a positive and empowered birth experience. Combining my massage therapy practice and knowledge with doula work gives me the skills to support my clients in exceptional ways. I also co-teach BIRTH LIKE A BADASS birth education class with Mila.
Outside of massage and birth I love traveling, being in the mountains, skiing and trail running. I live in Nelson with my husband, three children (two boys and a girl) and our dog, Nimbus.
I am also approved under the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program in BC.
